    Panda AV Free

    http://www.cloudantivirus.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng

I'm going to install this on a VM and test it out. It launched today. Basically the free version.

From what Documentation I have gotten from head office it is basically cloud technology. When Panda scans it will send the MD5 hash of a particular file for analysis.

Its incorporated into the 2009 products as well.

Give it a go and either PM me some feedback or post here.

    EDIT:

    • It can be installed in Windows XP and Windows Vista. The installed client takes up less than 50MB of hard disk space.
    • It consumes the same bandwidth as having a gmail webpage open.
    • It's a really lightweight antivirus which only consumes around 17MB of RAM.

I started hating Panda as a security application provider long back.. I still remember using information from Panda's website to create my AV / Virus project back in the school days (around 10 years ago)..

However I don't trust them anymore (no offence)..

As far as cloud computing goes in AV I think Trend leads the race..

anyway let us know how this one fare's..

Could you elaborate which product you are referring to with Trend :P

    https://securecloud.com/ .. For general information I guess..

We used to use trend but shifted to Symantec.. It’s been a year now but the bosses’ aren't happy and with over 50000 machine we have one AV vendor coming every week (they don’t mind repeating the same slide show twice, lame bastards)..

I really liked trends presentation on how they've integrated cloud computing to endpoint protection..

http://us.trendmicro.com/us/products...ion/index.html .. It doesn't have the same presentation or the video that I saw but I must say with everyone coming in and out this last one by trend representative was super!
