Is your desktop pretty? Is it cool? Prove it!

    Hey everyone!

Remember a long time ago when someone made a thread where you took a screen shot of your desktop and then uploaded it to show what you'd done, or hadn't done, to your desktops? Well, I liked that thread.

    So I'm making this one.

The first picture I'm showing here is one I just took. The machine is one of my main Desktops, and you can see I have KDE running (3.5) and I also opened up a Konsole where I made a custom font, color, and background imagine inside the Konsole, and then used a wallpaper I grabbed under the KDE Configuration thingy, under get more wallpapers, and used it. I like it. I have quite a few icons on my desktop because I use a lot of apps for different things, so there are quite a few on my desktop.

Anyway, enjoy, and if you like your desktop, take a screen shot and upload it here.

I like this idea. This is a screenshot from my laptop, which has slackware 12.2 installed on it. For the GUI, i use fluxbox. As an eyecandy, i have also setup conky, and urxvt as a TERM that becomes a part of the dekstop itself (not in a window). This screenshot has been taken a little while back, but its still the same.

Well, I quite like this one, although I need to do more work to get my local weather...................and change the song to "Hail to the Chief" or "The Star Spangled Banner" .................I don't think that "Soldiers with Chavez" would go down too well in some circles?

    The distro is Debian 5

    Hey Ron,

It looks like "herself" has just paid a visit?....................all them ropes neatly belayed?

I am just messing around refurbing a few boxes, so I will have a shot at Red Star (Argentina) and Nova (Cuba) as a dual boot. Problem is my Spanish ends at getting fed and drunk .............apart from Soccer!
So I am looking at revamping an old Duron 1.3 and running Debian and Gentoo on that in English.

I started to look at these fringe distros since the great "cyber warfare" scare started (read: reds under the bed......give us some federal dollars?)

The Chinese stuff is pathetic..............these two look pretty cool.

Shoot me for this.. but it's fun to see what a print screen reveals..

JP you and me use the same AV, for ripping DVD's you may give a try to MagicDVD ripper, its way way better then what you've got there (is it an asus MB or Realtech audio card ?) ..

t34b4g5 has gone through (maybe) the trouble of cleaning all shortcuts / files to New folder and uses Avast ..

Hey! I went through the trouble of making this with a Konsole shot so that the icons were covered up lol. I think all you can really see is PrBoom, and FreeDOOM on mine, other than a few apps.

Mine came up kind of small for some reason, it's a full sized shot, I did two of them to see if one with the normal screen shot app did it different than import -window root but it was the same.

I'll have to grab one of my Laptop, it's REALLY neat with the colors and shading I did.
