Pure stupidity that they will not get away with.
1. A PCSO is not a proper police officer and does not have the powers.
2. We have specialist armed response, anti-terrorist and bomb squads.........they should have called for backup and waited for the cavalry.
3. If you seriously consider that someone might be a terrorist you do not confront them..............you call for a surveillance team and hope they will lead you to the rest of the cell.
Mind you, a lot of this is the bullcrap they are told by "security experts". Take my town for example...........they had one of those seminars here...........people were told to be suspicious of people with cameras.
Errrrrr............this is a seaside holiday resort with about 2 million visitors a year............what do tourists usually carry and do?
Finally................haven't they heard of Google?..............maps, Earth and whatever........................a much greater security risk and terrorist resource IMO

If I had the time to look at google's captcha system I'd setup scripts to automaticly remove entire nations from the street view feature. Unlike other people I won't lie and make up some off the wall privacy issues. I actually have some very left wing views toward property rights.

I don't know about your part of the World, but over here there have been real security issues. Criminals have been using the applications to target burglaries and even the theft of fish!

If it turns into a trial and is successfully agianst him though, you can send it to the EFF and they'll have something to attack google maps with over street view. It'll be another challenge towards the legality of having your picture taken without consent.
