    Disable smilies in text function.

    Greetz.

There seems to be a issue with the "Disable smilies in text" function.

example when i press the Reply button or start a new thread, i am able to disable smilies in text, but in westin's screenshot he does not have this option available?

i have scoured the userCP and there does not seem to be an option for smilies in text so i figured why not start a thread and see if anyone else has this issue?

Could it be something to do with his browser or its settings.

I have the disable smilies function, but if I want to use smilies I have to allow Antionline in the NoScript plug-in to FF 3.5.6

I have noticed that sometimes an FF update will reset this to off.

Does Westin have Java Script disabled?

I have the 'disable smilies in text' option whenever I use 'Post Reply' at the bottom of a page, if I use 'quote' on someone's post or if I hit the 'Go Advanced' button beneath the quick reply box.

    This is browser independant

I am wondering if it might have something to do with your choice of editing mode?

Go into the UserCP and scroll down to "miscellaneous options"

Select "Enhanced Interface- Full WYSIWYG Editing"

You may have to log out and back in again?

Also, if you go into "edit" and then "go advanced" do you get the option?

I don't have the option. I'm using IE8, fully patched and Java Script is enabled.

    Hmmm,

This is a fully patched version of IE8, and I do have the option?????????????

Opera and Safari also have the option.

Are smilies turned "on" in the posting rules? (Scroll down below the quick reply box)

i think JPnyc may have to check the usergroup permission settings. the setting may be corrupting when users go from Newbie -> Junior Member -> Addict -> Senior Member.

So far, it seems as though the Mods have it, but not the rest of us. Just a thought.

And to answer Nihil's question, the smilies are set to on.
