how would i make this happen?

Hey I'm looking to make a batch file that's a little prank. I looked on Google and i didn't find quite what I'm looking for.

How would i code the file to do this: Copy the program files folder looping. so the hard rive would fill up. Don't want to destroy anything just fill up the hard drive.

    thanks.

Filling up the hard drive would be pretty disastrous...it would render it unusable

You could use a variable as part of the folder name when you copy it, and increase the variable each time it loops. That way each copy will have a different name, so nothing is overwritten. As MLF said, this can be disastrous... Windows does not like to run with less than 10-15% free space...

If it's just a prank that you want to pull off you can just install firefox on his machine.. He will burn !

I just had to say that..

Don't even think about it...............the days of boys having fun have long gone.

Schools, colleges, employers, and the law take a very dim view of this sort of thing and totally overreact in many cases.

If you fill their hard-drive then you will crash the computer.............that is a CRIMINAL offence in many countries.

The only time you might attempt such a thing is if you own the machine in question.............and somehow I just know that you don't

    Don't make me smack you!

    Also:

I have a floppy disk here somewhere (It's been a long time since I even looked at this crap) that I have some of my better "pranks" / Virii on, and one of the things on there is a little .exe that when ran, fills the HD.

I've got a bunch of stuff on there from way back when that I found interesting, and even though I got rid of most of my collection, I did keep a few of the more interesting ones around on some floppies that are clearly marked "Don't FCKING OPEN!" just in case someone gets interested.

Basically I kept my HD killer, a few of the more interesting Viruses I came across, some trojans, back doors, and of course the HD filler, and ONE .exe that I still haven't figured out.

I managed to destroy my first machine with it.... I'm not kidding; I accidentally double clicked on this thing because it wasn't zipped for some reason, and I instantly hit the power button, while staring at the monitor showing a DOS window, and when I turned the machine back on, nothing....

I to this day haven't figured out how it did that. I mean literally, I had Windows 95 on the machine, a bunch of MP3s, and a bunch of porn on it, and when I hit power, I turned it back on, Windows wouldn't work anymore, and when I tried to format the disk, it said the size of the HD was to small for Windows 95 now.

So I tried installing Windows 3.1 I have on floppy, and it said there was no room for that.... I grabbed PC-DOS and got that installed and it said I barely had room. The little Bastard literally ate the HD. I don't mean "Well, I tried, it's screwed" I mean "Wow I can't even boot from a Linux Floppy Disk and just format the whole thing now!"....

I STILL have the floppy that killed the machine... Someone here once sent me a PM about it because they wanted to know how it worked, and according to what I heard, they had to buy a new machine. It killed the one they tested it on.

I save it because I've yet to ever see it again. I have HD Killer and HD Killer Pro, and I know what THOSE are, this is NOT that. This actually seems to physically damage the disk. It's amazing really, so I kept it in my "Lil Bastards Floppy of Revenge".

It's of course Zipped now. Zipped, Gzipped, Tarred, Bziped, and I think I made a Rar too. To basically the file looks like "DontOpenThisEver.tar.gz.bz2.zip.rar" or something.

    Thanks for the advice.

I have a few simple ones i'm working on and i've been testing most out of my own pc. i have nothing important so i just reformat when i crash it.

i've been having some fun with batch files. but i want something that they can easily delete. to free up the space. like.. all of the files going into 1 folder.

i can fix whatever i do to my own computer. but theres a few people i'm not too fond of.

Oh what exactly are the laws of sending people some malicious batch files? like deleting registry files? isn't it their fault if they open up a .bat file?

oh.. and uh.. think you could send that little monster to me?

i test alot of the things i've been making on myself. and i just reformat since i have no important information on my computer.

what exactly are the laws of sending viruses?

    ahh...good luck with that

AFAIK you cant format a full hard drive...its pooched...as I believe to format it you need room to write the MFT

Dont know for sure...maybe some other OS can do it...but I doubt it

    I am a windows girl
