    Archived Text Files

Haven't logged on in ages. Wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of where those awesome (and seemingly extensive) old text files went. If they are no longer hosted here @ AntiOnline, anyone know of a similair archive of old zines?

    Thanks.

    Hi, welcome back

I am afraid that I am not sure what you mean............if you look down the right hand side of the main page you will see "Discussion Forums". Right down the bottom are the links to AO's archived stuff.

Back on the main page, below the contents stuff is the tutorials index.

Or are you referring to the alt.binary newsgroup stuff?...............as far as I am aware that was never actually hosted here............we just had direct links to it; so you would have to go to the newsgroup site.

E-mail and IRC disappeared a long time ago.

    Hope that helps

Hi, like I said in my reply to your other post (it seemed to have hung up) but I think that I have freed it so I will merge the two.

I don't really know exactly what you are referring to.........can you give me the dead link and I can take a look for you?

here's the url to the old text files archive:> http://anticode.antionline.com/text-archive.php?

I don't think that they were merged with the database during the big site upgrade that took place a few years back. ( When we upgraded from Jp's version to the default vbulletin 3..* version )

Im still happy because the Tools & Toy's section still works so i get to play hacker hangman and battleships during my boredom moments

    http://www.antionline.com/tools-and-toys/

Im pretty sure i have a full backup of the text files someplace on my homeserver, i'll do some digging around if not i'm sure there will be a mirrored archive floating around

HYBR|D got it right. That's the dead link. Apologies for not being clearer. Major upgrade huh? That explains quite a bit. If anyone else is looking for text files i found a few (albeit ancient ones) here: http://www.textfiles.com/magazines/
    Thanks for the help!

anticode.antionline.com disappeared long before the management software upgrade................I believe that there was a reorganisation of the site layout when we changed servers at some stage.

From what I recall there was a warning that you would have to search around for stuff? I would guess it will be in the archives section but not distinguishable as such.

This is what the Wayback Machine has:http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://...antionline.com

you won't be able to download them as you need to log in.

    here's the direct link http://web.archive.org/web/200304132...xt-archive.php

the anticode.com domain was still active and working when JP owned the place. then Jupitermedia took over, and slowly screwed the place up. They bought something they didn't know/understand how to market correctly.

when we switched from Jp's vbulletin version to the default vbulletin 3.* version at lot of stuff was not ported over. As you will see from the waybackmachine. just like the tools & toys link from the front page got taken away during the upgrade. Just never got put back.
