It's more than that. I have the idea of duking it out with companys by using their own tacktics agianst each other. For example, we write our local representatives and start to treat street addresses as the equivalence of a company trademark.
And by copyrighting the architecture of our homes, taking pictures of these buildings might be considered breaking an antitrust law in the process.

Of course, as a photographer I find the idea of not being able to shoot something an infringement of my rights.
The amount of hassle photographers get around major public landmarks and tourist locations is spectacular.
Of course, nobody questions the guy with the 8MB camera phone, just those people who have big DSLR cameras.
Still, if the government says this to prevent terrorism, I should trust them, OK.
After all, terrorists can use Street View to do all the research they need.

The difference is that they're doing it simply and deliberately to harass other people. These aren't museums and parks. They're random homes belonging to people who aren't even famous public figureheads.
And the individual freedom you and I share as citizens should never be applied to Google as a company. You can call commercial products and services tasteful, thoughtful even, but you can not call it art.
