    brutus-Feedback required

    I have learned from the net that I can use the brutus tool for recovering my gmail password which i forgot.I also forgot all the security questions and the secondary email ID.
    Any one used Brutus for the same purpose could please help me in This?

    they have an automatic account locate feature, and also last week they upped there security policy's.

    Curious to know how you have "Forgotten" the needed credentials all off a sudden?

    Well Mr Security Guy...then you should know running a password cracker on a remote server without permission... is illegal.

    You should not be able to use a brute force or dictionary cracking tool on an e-mail site. Apart from the illegality, it should kick you out after something like 5 attempts..........and lock the account for a period of time.

    If you think of the number of possible combinations of even 8 characters you can see why it would be virtually impossible.

    Best bet is the secondary e-mail account. Just look at all your accounts to find the one you used............it will have had the password recovery link sent to it.

    Another possibility is if the password is stored somewhere on your PC, maybe in another Google application or a browser.

    Basically, what you read on the internet was very much out of date. It might have worked 10 years ago, but it won't today.
