    Question Outlook Attachment Problem

A client of mine is having issues adding attachments from network shares on the server. Local attachments work fine. The root directory of the network share loads fine, subfolders take a min or so to open. Accessing the shares outside of Outlook works fine. There are no errors in the event log. They are using eEye Blink for AV and I have tried disabling it completely and it has no add-ins listed in Outlook. Any ideas?

Outlook 2007 using IMAP on Windows XP. The user has full access to the folder. It is a domain network. The file can be opened using explorer. The access is delayed but eventually accessed through Qutlook.

    Have you tried repairing Outlook??

Can you try mapping a drive to the share and see if that works better??

I tried repairing Outllook, the .pst, creating a new profile and new .pst. I'll try mapping.

Creating a mapped drive seems to solve the issue. This is a new issue so I do think this is just bypassing the symptoms of a bigger problem. I will look into the link and see if those suggestions help. Thanks.

Appears there are some real performance hits with Outlook 2007...compared to 2003.

MS did release a patch....maybe confirm that it is installed. That article gives some good tips.

May seem shocking to some but I used to LOVE Outlook and OE, and I'm almost certain that the patch Morgan has told you about is part of this. I've had a similar issue where Outlook was doing a very similar thing, and the patch and Mapping seems to work.

I can't say for certain this is your issue but it was very close, and the patching helped a lot.
