Genuine Advantage Go bye bye
Apparently MS has retired there "Genuine Advantage" tool. i noticed they have only recently retired a few kb articles.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917999
and on a few tech site's it's because the program has served it's purpose.
*EDIT*
found an article on arstechnia http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/new...ge-program.ars

Well doesnt matter does it? It was only used to tell an already pirated customer that he has priated the software.

When the little reminder box used to pop up, i used to don my Pirate Hat, and sticky tape our old parrot to my shoulder, and pretend it was talk like a pirate day all day everyday.
i've suddenly got the urge to boot up monkey island on my old 386 and enjoy some migraine enducing goodness.

If I can remember correctly, it did stop you from doing something. I can't remember everything it did though. I think one of the things was that it didn't allow you to get updates. But I could've sworn there was something else as well.
