Flashing Threads with AP's
now I realise it was probably a hack in the old setup, BUT the way a post would 'Flash' when it had been hit with AP's was a visual representation that a comment had attracted attention - good or bad
just wondering, that seeing as we still use AP's here, if the functionality could be re-inserted?
so now I'm in my SIXTIES FFS
WTAF, how did that happen, so no more alterations to the sig, it will remain as is now

A similiar option is available, it's called "Rate Thread" more gold stars means better topic, less stars means possible not a good thread.
And yes the old feature was indeed a custom job. Personally because we already have a similiar feature already then there's really no need to add a 2nd when the default option works just fine.

Wasn't there also a feature that would make a thread flash if it was several months/years old? Not that it really helped much with people posting to old threads...

No there was no feature in which your describing westin.
Most the time when old threads are dugg up and posted into, usually we just move the post into it's own new topic, and manually add an link to the existing older topic as reference.
It's not an occurance that happens often, so when such happenings do occur we usually sort it within the hour.

Yes, there was some sort of hack that did that, although I cannot remember the exact details. If you either opened an old thread or tried to post to one(???) the date was either highlighted or flashed.............. I think that the threshold was around 3 months.
Like you say westin, it didn't seem to help much

Years of viewing the Blazing Yellow eventually gave me color blindness.
Seriously though, If your want AO's Design/Layout to be "Better" - "Different" then feel free to submit a few Demo Graphic Layout Changes.
I eagerly await to see your submissions.
