90+% of that garbage is coming from ad servers, block them.

Spyware intends of making benefit from your personal information. Whereas, Virus can damage your existing data and system updates.

Sorry for bumping such an old thread but I am interested in the mobile apps that are used to monitor activity in Snapchat and other social networks are considered to be spyware?

Spyware is a specific type of unwanted software that covertly collects your information. A virus is a specific way software can be covertly distributed, often by e-mail. Both spyware and viruses can cause damage to your computer or cause you to lose important data.
