    Help, please!

I have a quick question. A customer of mine has
    Macbook Pro:
    (13 inch, late 2011)
    2.4 Ghz intel Core i5
    Memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel GD Graphics 3000 384
problem is he took the machine down to the Apple Store and they said it needed a new Hard drive and he also wanted to do data migration (get old files off of system and back it up to external hard drive). They said they don't do that. Anyways, I just ran a "Apple Hardware" test and it came back no problems found saying everything was fine. Anyways, the client had MacKeeper on system and a virus. I got rid of them with ESET NOD32.

The client wants me to back up ALL DATA on his system, reformat the machine and re-install OSX Yosemite v.10.10 ALL Data is backed up to to MAC PASS PORT external Hard Drive. This Macbook did not come with any installation cd's is there a sequence I can hit at startup to access his partitiion on drive. Or do I have to go to the APP store and download an OSX to external hard drive to do this? Last question: The memory here how can I fix it without purchasing more memory any services/features to disable?? All help is greatly appreciated.. do you guys think he needs new hard drive or just backup all data reformat it and reinstall yosemite 10.10 Thanks,

UPDATE I purchased a 16GB toshiba thumb drive to install OSX YOSEMITE 5.1 GB FILE AND DIRECT MAKER X I followed everything as instructed in this video to a "T" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7y0joKezms

All my customers wants is to back up all data on the drive and factory re-install Yosemite. I tried the USB method not working, tried downloading and installing didn't work, tried control + r simultaneous to and did a osx yosemite and the thing still shows up.. I have the 5gb file downloaded to the drive thumb drive and desktop.. please help

Well is the thumb drive formatted Fat32 or NTFS

If that one does not do it.

Back up and recovery Seems there is lots of help links there.

I would follow their method. Never done a install of any Mac OS myself.

So, I would see how one of these ideas check out since Using a stick is how I install Linux distros.

    Like this one myself.

Installing Yosemite was a nightmare. I tried the 8GB thumb drive technique (i watched youtube video) no go, I literally reinstalled Yosemite 10,10 (after i backed up all data of course) still did not delete.. Finally, I said **** it and cleaned it out, backed up his system spent 90 bucks on 8 gb of ram for his computer... his computer is a lot faster now... plenty of space on hard drive and external hard drive...

Installing windows is sweet... installing Mac OS X Yosemite oh hell no!!! Thank you guys again for your help Shay..
