I dont know how to ask the question ...
so it will post thusly:
Home network
Netgear R7000 10.10.10.1
10.10.10.102 Win 7 Wireless channel 11 But channel makes no difference.
10.10.10.101 PCLOS Ethernet connection -WIRED
There are other devices but these are the ones that interact.
The Win 7 laptop works perfectly as long as the PCLOS machine is not turned on. As soon as that machine is booted and stable the Windows machine can no longer surf - Even it it was previously running it gets “Server Not Found” errors and the only solution is to remove the cable or powerdown the PCLOS box.
The router has been taken down to a factory reset and has current software - The Windows box has been reinstalled several times, including an OEM install, and network hardware deleted and reinstalled with current drivers. The PCLOS machine has had similar attempts at correction.
It SEEMS like it is a DNS issue. Have tried multiple DNS servers (isp’s, and several others)
I am out of guesses

Set a static IP for the PCLOS like 10.10.10.20 where DHCP will not be involved.
Just incase:

Thank you, but I guess I wasnt specific enough in what has been attempted. Both machines, individually AND together, have had manually set IP's, and router assigned IP' based on MACs. The results are the same. I have also used the 192.168.x.x range of addresses - all to no avail.
The resolution, if ever found, is going to turn out to be something so stupid it is getting overlooked,

It is a plain old PCLOS install. Nothing fancy at all and definitely not worth the grief it is causing me. Gonna dump the Full Monty and install Fedora 24 instead.

Try Antix-16 or MX-15.
Prefer AntiX myself.
