The more observant of you may have noticed the interesting entrance page that I came up with for this week's mailbag. For more information about what it was all about, finish reading the mailbag, then visit the following link:

New U.S. law requires Web sites to become 'handicapped accessible'

I'm not sure where this originated. It was sent to me by one of our readers, I thought it was funny, so I'm passing it along to you:

I'm sure you're all on the lookout for the notorious "Melissa"
computer virus, and are taking appropriate precautions. However, this latest
outbreak has spawned a rash of copycat viruses that are perhaps
even more dangerous and destructive. Here are a few, with their dire effects:

Lewinsky Virus:

Sucks all the memory out of your computer, then e-mails everyone
about what it did.

Ronald Reagan Virus:

Saves your data, but forgets where it is stored.

Mike Tyson Virus:

Quits after two bytes.

Oprah Winfrey Virus:

Your 300MB hard drive suddenly shrinks to 100MB, then slowly expands to 200 MB.

Dr. Jack Kevorkian Virus:

Deletes all old files.

Ellen Degeneres Virus:

Disks can no longer be inserted.

Titanic Virus (A Strain Of The Lewinsky Virus):

Your whole computer goes down.

Disney Virus:

Everything in your computer goes Goofy.

Prozac Virus:

Screws up your RAM but your processor doesn't care.

Joey Buttafuoco Virus:

Only attacks minor files.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Virus:

Terminates zome viles, leaves, but it vill be baaack.

Lorena Bobbit Virus:

Reformats your hard drive into a 3.5 inch floppy,
then discards it through Windows.

Viagra Virus:

Makes a new hard drive out of an old floppy.

JP,

You really stuck your neck out by publishing your article "What Kind of Hackers Head the Culture" on April 23rd, 1999. It doesn't take much of a brain to "read between the lines" to see what is really going on with Villella and the rest. Makes me glad that I never subscribed to the "phrack" mailing list.

Perseus

Due to the fact that nearly everyone I mentioned in that story is threatening legal action against me, I better not comment on this one eg

I recently began to read your thesis on becoming a hacker profiler. I
believe it to be very intelligent and well thought out. I also believe you
to be the person who might be able to answer the question that no one has
been able to answer for me, yet. I have three people over the Internet whom
I have been writing too. A man, his son, and a friend of the sons. I have
wrote to them over e-mail and ICQ, both in the messages and the chat. At
one time on the chat I was able to talk to the son and the friend at the
same time. Now my question is this, how do I find out if the three are each
individuals or are all merle the older man playing a particularly nasty
trick on young adults. We have met the man in person, and we have talked to
him over the phone. Problem is when we talked to his son, it sounded almost
identical. I have their e-mail addresses and I also have their ICQ#'s if
that helps. Please respond to this message with any information that you
may have on finding the truth. I would also like to hear your thoughts on
this subject.

Thank you,

Michael "NEO" Constant

It doesn't take a genius here to figure out that you're dealing with one ****ed up dude. I suggest you stop communications with this man before you find out what it's like to wear a dog collar and be whipped.

After several nasty letters from him (which he asked me not to post), I received the following e-mails from Route, the Editor of Phrack (which he didn't mention anything about me not being able to post).

Take me off your retarded list.

My reply to him was as follows:

Well, if you would read instead of just being a ***** with a chip on his shoulder, you would have seen the bottom of this letter:

>> The AntiOnline News Mailing List is made up of users who have subscribed via a sign-up form on AntiOnline.com You can remove yourself from this list at any time by sending an email to listserv@antionline.com with the body of unsubscribe news

That little "king of the world" attitude of yours may intimidate some. I, however, just find it amusing.

No, I didn't take you off of my list, and I'm not going to. If you want removed from it, you will have to follow the removal procedure listed below. Otherwise, you will continue to receive updates on a regular basis, as defined in our site privacy statement. Apparently some people are a little bit slower than others.... He still hasn't removed himself from the list yet (when last I checked). Either he's having a hard time understanding the removal procedure, or he just can't stand the thought of loosing me in his inbox every week. I guess I just have that effect over some people.

tripp Submitted The Following:

are your scripts for displaying the hack attempts available for public use?

neat idea.

Well, our hack attempts page needs a lot of work yet. I may find time to finish/revamp it this week. Maybe when it's all said and done with, i'll release it in the form of a "module" for RealSecure.
