I too am a Linux newbie (although I'm alot older than 16!). The only advice I can give is to be patient and don't give up. You've made the right choice in asking for help here, though. People such as freeOn, petemcevoy, linuxcomando, obi and even miss mittens seem more than willing to help 'nix newbies such as ourselves.
