Well, I don't know about security on the different mediums, but I like DSL cos you are always guaranteed a certain amount of bandwidth. With cable, if more and more users subscribe to it, the amount of bandwidth each user gets is reduced. Even though it'll take a lot of people to severly reduce this, I like the technology behind DSL.
Plus, to get DSL in my area, the only thing that has to be done by the phone company is upgrade the exchange I live in - which is much easier and quicker then laying cable everywhere.
