Is it internet intruder? Or someone that physical access to computer...Windows 98 has very poor security, at best. Windows 2000 is much more secure...but weak game playing abilities. For someone that has physical access to computer, I have used "Folder Guard", which is a java based app. to secure folders...they will remain hidden and secure (unless booted in "safe mode"). This works even over a LAN. For internet security, I use a router (w/cable modem) and "Zone Alarm"... Ok solution for home user. Make sure that you "file sharing" is turned off.
