    Thanks for the replies guys,
    As far as I can tell, I do have autologin disabled, and I'm still able to login to my regular user account and my root account without any password whatsoever. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

    you could beat it with a hammer.. that should fix the problem.. just rember.. the problem is in the box not the monitor.. good luck..

    Um, well looking at this it further inbeds into me not to use linux...no seriously though have you set passwords for those accounts? I know nothing about linux so I have to at least try..

    Here is a snap shot under the Mandrake Control Center. The same settings are in the KDE 2.2 and 3.0 Contro; Centers as well, but sometimes they don't work right depending on you /root settings in this panel.

    Hi P2P,
    Thanks for the screenshot. I've got the "No autologin" setting check under the MCC boot configuration panel and in KDE 2.2.2 I've removed the check marks for autologin, and it's still letting me in without passwords. Arrrghh!

    Turn off the gui login. You said it requires a password if you do a command line login right.... So if you turn off the gui login, then want to use x for something, just use startx....
