Um, do you mean ident like an ident server? You do not need a spoofer to run an ident server.

And as for your irc trick, it didn't work for me on any of the major IRC networks I tried. And also, ops only get 2 basic categories of things, more or less granting special access or banning a user from an IRC chan. They don't have special IRC server privlieges where they can see your IP otherwise all anybody would have to do is make their own channel and they could check out the IP addresses of anybody. I think you need to read up on IRCops, who are server ops, which means they have special access over all users and regulate the server. Basically ops for the entire server.

And as for IP spoofing, it is used to send some fake info online, and it rarely works. Also, as ammo said it is impossible to go around surfing the net because the servers don't know where to send you info as they do not know your IP addy. So, the main use for spoofing, is Dos or DDoS attacks, as they only send packets. I reccomend you try DC IS 'cause I did, it didn't do a thing for me.
