It's not the same kernel. The Linux kernel has absolutely nothing to do with *BSD. It even works differently.
The *BSDs are direct descendants of the one and only original AT&T UNIX. Linux is a kernel build from scratch by Linus.
I'm a long time FreeBSD user. Once you get a taste of it you'll forget about Linux
Mmm, I am still exploring the world of FreeBSD, it seems nice. But i just cant get it to install properly on my notebook, why your notebook you might wonder. Well since thats like my OS / instalation test station.
