Domain Squatting & "possibly" sniffed
Last week my internet surfing / email slowed to a crawl. I have 2.5mbit and have never had a problem....so what happened ? I found the reason by accident (doing a tracert on a mail server that was unreachable)
And a lot of websites were unreachable - as I was being re-directed.
It turns out that 'urlcollection.com' has amassed thousands of domain names - and is not only squatting on them - but has them routed through their DNS.
My un-registered domain name (like a lot of people use) behind my firewall had been up for 10 years without any problem. (in retrospect, I should have registered it)
My point is - If 'urlcollection.com' is running DNS against these unregistered domain names, then they could be sniffing the information that goes through their system.
Any one have an 'unregistered' domain name ?
