Actually I havent heard anymore on this one, but I am honestly surprized there arent a lot more cases of this. Years ago, I worked for a small mailing company, back in the day when Spam was on paper and know as "junk mail" Anyways, we did a number of large mailings for a VERY large CC company, and the names and addresses where on 9 track Mag tapes. Each time we did a mailing they would send us a tape, and each time I would go to break out the data and fields for names and addresses, and everytime they would have full CC#'s and PINs on those tapes. No matter how many times I called their data department, they never got it right, and always included those fields instead of filtering them out. A small job for them was a mailing of 1.7 Million, avg was 2.5, 5 times a year.

Worse, we were instructed to just "Throw the tapes out" not return them (They burn well BTW ). I have long since left the company, but from what I hear from a old co worker, they still havent gotten it right.
