Yes, Spybot is regulary updated; whenever it loads, it downloads any availble updates.
I have also used Spybot to stop programs from loading on startup, and the TeaTimer keeps an active watch on my settings.
I use RegSeeker to clean out the registry whenever I delete programs.
Although this is a very old computer and I've had to add RAM to keep it up, it's our only computer for the moment, and since I'm the only one that actually has some knowledge of computers in the family, I get blamed whenever there are problems. Ugh. Thank you for the suggestions; I'll check out those programs you mentioned.
I can only wait until I migrate to Linux on the computer I'm currently building... then I won't have to deal with these annoyances.
