Apache - PHP, PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library C:/PHP/php_mysql.dll'

I've set up the latest Apache with latest PHP on Windows, but when starting Apache I get next error

PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library C:/PHP/php_mysql.dll' - Invalid access to memory location.

I've looked in to the subject on Google, but couldn't find any replies so far And I didn't have this problem last time I installed Apache on my machine

    Any help welcome

    Thanks

I don't know how you installed it.. but if you installed and configured everything yourself might I suggest walking away and finding an easier way?

    I'm a huge fan of XAMPP - http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html.

I dislike running Apache on Windows, but if you're going to do it I find it's the way to go.

    I found this, http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?52,37151,40841

    That might work.

But I agree with HTRegz, on Windows, XAMPP is really nice. I've used both the manual and XAMPP and found XAMPP to be almost headache free. I've only ever used it on development machines, not servers though.

If you're the type of idiot that "uses Chrome for a browser because it's targeted less than IE and Firefox"

Then you might want to keep in mind that web based shells usually have Linux purely in mind. And there always seems to be a billion times more opportunity to escalate privileges under that type of environment.

    To The-Spec.

Please read AGAIN my signature, only carefuly this time round. If you want to show off the fact that you've learned some smart words like "Linux", "escalate privileges" etc, then, PLEASE, go somewhere else.

I happen to have a very high opinion about this forum and those here who DO actualy help others, so please don't waste the effort these people put in and don't behave like a complete tosser.

    My regards

    To HTRegz and Slartarama

I was going to do exactly as you advise if I didn't resolve the issue till the end of today, so will set up XAMPP now

    Thanks for your comments.

I couldn't resist taking a jab at Gore, who seems to have trouble using an operating system built for ol' grannies. Mind you, yes, it had nothing to do with this thread but... so what.

I can pretend to be tough on the internet too. Either way that's not going to make me and other users stay on topic with your threads.

What'd I miss? Does Chrome run shell somehow? Have they even ported it to Linux yet?

I did catch the...sarcastic (is that the right word?)...smirk though.

If I where to run Apache and PHP on Windows or OSX... then put up a bunch of scripts vulnerable to remote file inclusion then allow people to run whatever they want. It would still remain pretty much untouched. Quite frankly, it's mainly because most people would give up on trying to find a localized flaw on those platforms in order really accomplish anything.

So what people should start doing is taking the same silly mentality that they have of other varying software products... and ditch the entire concept of using Linux as a server platform.
