    Image tags

It shows up as a link instead of an image. Change that.

Why not just attach the image to your post?
Just click the "Manage Attachment". button

Or just link to the image?

There has been discussion about this option been turned "On" in the past, and the answer was "No" back then, and i doubt it will change now...?

Um... im pretty sure everyone could post up images before the updates. I remember people could in signatures atleast. What was the reasoning behind this?

Yeah you could have 600x150 images in your signatures, but showing of images/Thumbnails etc have never been enabled in threads/posts.
You could always post the url or attach it to your post though.

Not to sure on the reasoning behind it though, maybe hopefully one of the admins could answer that question..

Uploading to the site is a waste of diskspace. Secondly, lolcats and horse dung is funny... web addresses aren't.

and all are not appropriate images to be displayed, thus the reasoning behind the whole no images being displayed.

maybe on other *cough* sites this sort of behaviour is encouraged but it ain't here.

Well, I seem to recall a discussion about this a while back when the question was how to include diagrams, tables and flowcharts. I believe that it was generally thought that there wasn't enough demand, although it probably wasn't an option with the bastardised version of vB we had back then.

I have noticed that with the version we are currently using, attachments are limited to 97.7Kb for .zip and .jpg files and the rest to 19.5Kb. The limits were a lot larger in the past (1.4Mb????)
