remailers question

I just read a book on privacy on the internet (hahahahaha) and the book mentioned anonymous remailers. I have a few questions.
How do I use one?
Where do I get a list of free ones?
How can I send mail through multiple remailers?
Also, which version of PGP do you recommend. ViaCrypt or MIT?

Remailers are a fickle thing. One day they're up and the next they're down. It's best to browse alt.2600.hackerz for a constantly updated list of free remailers. You'll also find that they post free news servers as well......
