Certications

Hi All,

I was looking into some of the SANS institutes online certifications. There are a few I would like to get and I was wondering if anyone knows if they add value to a resume or not. I could probably learn a thing or two from these courses, but I am really more interestred in the actual certificate.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated these courses are about $2000 each.

They are worth the money if you are getting into security as a main focus.

I recall someone posting so negative stuff about sans, so you might want to check it out a bit.

It might be worth looking at a Cisco Security Specialist Certification. These are very well regarded by employers. Only trouble is that you need your CCNA first. But there are plenty of colleges and stuff around that offer good deals on getting a CCNA. With these two certs you'd be set.

I appreciate everyone's thoughts. I probably going to do some additional investigating.
I would love to get a few certs to break into the security jobs I am missing out currently.
