Black Playstations

Dear All,

I have a query. Does anybody remember those black playstation's (PS1)? The reason I ask is that a local University uses them on its Computer Games Design Degree course and I wanted to know what you can do with them (i.e. program) 'cos I really don't know much about them (except they're black ;) ) . Do you need any extra kit to get them working? How do they work? Are they any good? etc.
