Absolutly pissed
Supreme Court strikes down ban on 'virtual child porn'
[RANT]This is absolutly disgusting. I cannot believe the Supreme Court has okayed these disgusting types of porn. I honestly have almost completely lost all respect for the Supreme Courts decisions. I mean come on... This is simply going to open the door for these perverts and give them an alley to convene on. Whats from stopping these perverts from getting off on the virtual type and decideing that they need to go and get the real thing? IMHO I think this is one of the most ****ed up things I have seen in a long time. [/RANT]
Plese excuse my french, but I have a little sister that I care alot about, and the possibilty that these perverts will be allowed to view this type of stuff really worries me.
:fpissed: :3pow: SUPREME COURT'S DECISION :globwhore
EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that the first amendment was upheld, but this is a sick use of it.

I hope they rewrite it, and the new one passes.

Xmadness,
I can understand you care about your little sister, but I think you're missing something...
Here's a couple of remarks:
- We're talking about VIRTUAL child porn here ("All models are 18 years of age or older. Proof of age can be acquired by emailing the webmaster"), not about abusing minors. (IMO, porn on the internet is for loosers who never tasted the real thing, but that's off-topic here).
- The US of A are so fond of their freedom of speach. If they would ban this kind of 'innocent' porn, they'd be acting against the First Amendment - A court is supposed to do what the law says, not what they/you think is right. Banning this kind of porn would mean getting rid of the First. I see you edited your post while I'm writing this - I still have a remark though: What's the use of your First Amendment if it only applies to some cases, and not to others?
- You say this kind of porn is going to open the door for 'these perverts'... I say BANNING this kind of porn is going to open the door for 'these perverts': if they can't get their kicks on the (virtual) net, they'll have to get them somewhere else...

You know whats sick? Is that this will probley be an actual banner for these sickos. Its like we wont let the Taliban communicate online, but the sick pedo-philes can have a field day. What the ****!?!
<Gets the napalm ready>
<Adds Thermite>
*not terror threat- for you paranoid NSA peeps

It isn't like they have given pedophiles the "right of way". They simply undid a too broad of law. I bet you wouldn't be in an uproar if the DMCA was revoked, like this law was.
Don't get me wrong here. I hate pedophilia just as much as the next 'sane' person. There is a good discussion on SlashDot about this.

Negative> I like pron, and I have "tasted the real thing"
Ok, so it was only once, but hey....

Ditto to every single thing Negative says. Thanks for pointing this out, xmaddness, but I totally agree with Neg on this one. Freedom of speech is not a personal issue, and it can't be biased at all. If it is, then it's not true freedom of speech.

If they care at all about free speech, they'll
strike down the recent campaign finance
reform law that makes it illegal for you to buy
television time to advertise your opinions
about political candidates
