red hat
can anyone recommend a really basic beginners tutorial for red hat 7.2
i just installed it and am completely ignorant to all that is linux but want to learn. i am finding many many tutorials but all are pretty advanced and im looking for something super basic.
any help is very appreciated.

It depends on what you want to do...... i suggest going to your local library or book store and getting a getting started book for RedHat... the version doesnt really matter much just as long as its not too old cus must of it is the same

You could check the support section of Redhat.com They have downloadable manuals that may help.

A book is the best way to go, I remember finding a few little tuts on google by searching for simple shell commands, don't know the URL's anymore or I'd give 'em up, but yeah, definately book.

the linuxnewbie link is exactly what i was looking for thanks for that. i actually do have a book by the way but i am on page 100+ and i feel pretty damn overwhelmed and i can tell that to even have a small grasp of this system is going to take a lot of work but i hope its worth it. nice to know there is a ton of people to turn for some help too. thanks guys

a few good books
LINUX UNLEASHED is a very good book..i did all my practice using that book..
RED HAT LINUX COMPLETE reference is also a good book..
for programming
BEGINNING LINUX PROGRAMMING is an excellent book..
