Cell Phones and Viruses
Is it possible to get a virus on your cell or pager if you have the internet on it? My sister thinks she might have one cuz she sees ths little trojan icon when she turns on her phone and it wasn't there until she d/l'd something onto her phone off the internet.

Pretty much anything connected to the Net can spread nastyware around

That is wierd....I really wouldn't think so seeing as the coding is different...as her what she downloaded and then do some reseach on it.....

There were reports of Viruses that would attack Cell Phones and PDA's but I have seen more Hoax's than anything. What exactly did your sister download?

threats
The malware designed for cell phones and PDA's are fairly unsophisticated as of yet. There are 3 recognized threats, only one of which are a real big problem...
1) Liberty Crack - deletes non-factory installed programs from your PDA
2) Vapor - makes Icons disappear
3) Phage - an actual virus that opens a blank screen when programs open and spreads through your address book(s).
Doesn't sound like any of them, but be aware of the hidden actions of anything on the phone. Turn it off and reset it every night, etc. Keep your eyes open about new threats, they will be multiplying very quickly, I assume.

I belive it's possible. It could also be someone exploiting a bug in the cellphone. I've heard of some nasty stuff done via AIM on phone and that sort of thing
