A newbie here. Will some one help me by telling how hackers can break in my system using open ports like shared ports or some thing else. Also my friend told me about a method of hacking using nbtstat commandmostly hackers used. Will some one here kindly explain me what that method is, and how can i save my system from hackers against this method. These informations i m demanding are just for security purpose. waiting for good reply.

but yeah.. Openportz.. well see.. u need a port to connect to a computer.. and we are talking about LOGICAL PORTS.. not the PHYSICAL ones.. each port has its own protocol.. to know that.. if you are using windows.. look for a file called "Services" and that file has no extensions or what so ever.. open it with notepad.. and u will see various ports with their corresponding protocols and uses.. ports are like the door ways to a house.. if its closed.. u cant get in.. if u leave it open.. someone could get in.. and the protocols are like key holes.. to use an open port.. u must use the correct protocol..

install a firewall, kill all shares unless necessary shares and do not access the internet! ;)
You should be somewhat safer hehehe
I'd just get a firewall and use it wisely. Don't use ftp and all that other crap and you'll be safe a little.
