Linux?

Me, Being a newbie, have a simple question for you all. I was going to get a version of linux for my computer, but I went to http://www.linux.org to look for a copy for me to use, but I don't know which kind i'll need. :confused:

Well, when I was a newbie like you, I chose Mandrake Linux, because of its ease of use and its ability to help you learn more about linux while using it. Regardless of what others say, it is a very good distro and I run my website off of it.

If you're truly a newbie to Linux, take a look at Mandrake.

If you are new to linux the i highly recommend linux mandrake, simpla and easy installation. Buy it to make it even easier, it is like 20-25 dollars at wal mart.

ALong with Mandrake, I'd recommend RedHat. Very user friendly as well, and well supported.

Mandrake is probably one of the best for newbies. After that you might wanna move on to RedHat or Slackware.

Mandrake is a great distro for n00bs and old hands. Use KDE with it though if you're new. It's very similar to windows and will help you to adjust.
You need to download three disks in ISO and burn them to CD. You can get them here:

Better yet, search these forums, because this has been discussed many many many times before.

Definitely Mandrake. Then move right to RedHat. Good user friendly OS.

Mandrake. It lets you learn linux while being able to interface with like widnows. A great way to transfer from windows to linux. Just buy it, ISOs seem to be bad luck.
