Lindows
Does anybody have lindows? My friend gave me the 0.9 beta version. I heard that it isn't that good for windows emulation, but that isn't my concern. I was going to burn it to cd on Monday, and I was wondering about his lindows is as a linux distro, I may want to run a shell off of it, also are there any security issues? I know there is a new lindows version out but I do not know where to get it. Thanx and bye.

lindows os
Hi, I had lindows installed so basically i will tell you what info i gathered from it
it is based on debian linux
it uses kde, although it tries to hide it
it's windows compatability is based on a version of wine
it had an integrated pppoe dialer =)
and it tries to hide linux
you can not update it unless you use kpackage, which they try to hide
i found it hard to install n e linux software
although it doesn't tell you, u r by default root (no user selection)
My advice: use mandrake, redhat, or my latest discovery libranet =)
hope this is of some help

I read somewhere that Walmart will sell clone pc's preinstalled with Lindows, can anybody in the US verify that?

Yeah, I heard lindows' windows emulation with a wine layer is pretty weak. Also heard that lindows isn't a fully featured linux, that is my biggest problem. I want to do stuff like run shell account off of a user friendly linux distro, I guess I gotta get redhat.

And one more thing, sumdumguy, they aren't selling them in stores, they are selling them online, it says that in the link you posted!
