Hi all,
Wonder if anyone out there could help me out. I am looking for a free software which could create a bootable full system recovery CD, you know the type which comes in with a new PC just incase the hard disk crashes or fails to boot. I have scouted webattack.com site but am unable to get it. Can you guys help???

Hmm... I know the windowsxp.nu supplies information how to make an installation disk bootable (such as a Windows 2000 or XP disk which, for one reason or another, cannot boot), but I'm sure if the same technique can be used to simply make your own. If you follow his instructions on that site, you can however, add different folders into the XTRAS folder and install from there later. Just a thought. Why do you need this?

Contact your pc manufacturer, I'm sure they have backups in case one of their customers lose(or destroy) theirs.
Another option you have if your system is stable or new out of the box and they want extra for the systems disks. Do a google search on Disk Image software, I use Disk Image Pro but their are free ones, most now enable a restore off a bootable CD-ROM.
Good call, Palemoon. I was just about to recommend Norton Ghost. Although it's not free, it's probably one of the better imaging software tools out there, and I believe you can store images on bootable cdroms. I trust Norton, and disk imaging is something where you don't want anything to go wrong -- the kind of software you cannot afford to find a bug in.
However, if you're interested in trying some cheaper versions, here are two with free trials:

nero burning rom can back up your entire hard disk to how ever many CD's are necessary, but again, its not free software. although the trial version works for 30 days, and you can still use this function during that period.
but id have to go with norton ghost also, because norton seem to have specialised in this area.

Thanks for your immediate response Guys, I had tried using Norton Ghost, but the problem with Norton is that if my present Harddisk is 10GB and I create an image to the CD, on installing a new Harddisk say of 30GB and doing a fully recovery , Norton recognises only the 10GB and not the remaining 20 GB. Most of the PC OEM manufacturers have a recovery CD which works in such a way that even if the present harddisk is 10GB and installing a new harddisk of 30 GB, does not eat up the extra 20GB.
So i was just wondering how do they do it. I will take a look at the http://www.bootdisk.com
