L*nux i586 or PPC ? ? ?
i'm about to download Mandrake from a website and it has two diferents types or i don't know but it says i586 and PPC. I'm new to any Linux OS but i whant to learn , i would like to know whats the diference or what does ti means i586 and PPC.
I would really apreciate if you could help me. :D

PPC is the PowerPC processor. If you have a Windows-based machine, you'll go with the x86 distrobution. Hope that answers your question. If you want more indepth information about the differences in processors, you can either search google, or you can PM me and I can give you a quick breakdown.

Those are different chip acrchitectures.
i586 is the intel design
PCP is the Power-PC design..
Others...
MIPS R4x00-based
Alpha AXP-based
PReP-compliant PowerPC

ppc is for macs and x86 is for intel-compatible(Pentium, celeron, amd, cyrix and the like)
