How? DVD -> CDR-DVD
Hi! As few might know that I already know how those fake softwares that claims to be able to copy DVDs with your existing CDRW drives. It just converts your DVD to either SVCD or VCD. However, here's the problem. The conversion between DVD to VCD is twice the length of the movie, and conversion between DVD to SVCD is about 4 to 5 times the length of the movie. I'm wondering, are there any softwares out there or any ways that I can split the DVD movie and put them on CD-Rs.
Like just to split the DVD movie (4.7GB) onto 7 CD-Rs (of 700MB/CD). By spliting, I mean distrubition/split, maintaining the correct ratio of caption, video, and audio (so, everthing takes place at the correct time, no delays in the audio, video, or caption), and not just simply split the files.
If there are softwares to do so, where can I find them?
Thanks for you help.
NOTE: Hey! I'm not doing illegal stuff, OK?

Have you tried TMPGEnc? It's an mpeg encoder but I believe you can set the media. Anyway it's free so give it a shot. It'll also convert most .avi formats to MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 if you buy the codec..

Otherwise you can always rip the DVD and then split it up in, say, Adobe Premiere or Ulead's MediaStudio.

I dunno, but I would like to menton that DVD-Recording drives cost upwards of $200.
You might be able to split the DVD movie onto 7 CDs, but then your DVD player probably wouldn't work with the incomplete-and-wrong-type disks.
