What's the best way to backup a hard drive? CD-RW? I have about 10Gig used on a 20 gig drive, and I'm paranoid about losing it. I am running XP Pro (yeah, I know) if that makes a difference.

XP has it's own back up feature under Accessories/System Tools. Although CD-RW is a good idea...
On a side note, what do you mean by " I am running XP Pro (yeah, I know)" ??
What about DVD-RAM? Wouldn't that be an alternative?
I know it has the backup under Admin tools, but how do you go about restoring one if say, the hard disk physically fails and you cannot boot Windows?
And the "yeah I know" comment was thrown in because I am dual booting XP & Red Hat, and sometimes the Linux constituency around here gets vocal. ;)
It would be if I could afford it! :DQuote:
I guess the easiest way would be to buy another hard drive and make use of the RAID controller I have. Just wish I had 2 20G drives instead of a 20 & an 8. :(
