aol irc??? again

ok so i did that and i it says i need the java script witch i tried to downlad and it took to long so a stopped it. i went back and it wouldnt even let me try to downlad it again and it gave me the ip and port so i connected to it and it just bring up the telnet wite screen what do i do from there???/ sorry i am a newbie just tryin to learn
