Hi all,
I recently wrote a program and comiled it in VB.
The program took me about 6 weeks to write.
I now have noticed a spelling mistake in one of the labels and a command button that doesn't work.
I deleted my source code (Doh)
Can the exe be decompiled in any way ?
if you look below this post the Similar Threads should help., if not google it.
i'm sure you can do it tho i have no idea how.
This question has been asked many times before and im afraid the answer is, there are no known decompilers for the later versions of VB!
If you look at the "Similar Threads" feature at he bottom of this thread you'll see, funny enough, similar threads!
Sorry to hear about your loss, as i know it can be a royal pain but why did you delete the source?

I deleted the source because I got a new machine last week.
I had all my folders ready to move and copied them to a cd.
The cd the got Jam on it. < Fechin Girlfriend.
Now not only won't it work but it doesn't go well on a sandwich either.
that's because u haven't broken it into bite size pecies.
sorry bout ur cd tho, the internet will have it but it might be a bitch to find, maybe someonw here will help tho. have faith!
Is there no way you can remove the cd from the drive?
Thats probably your only chance of recovering your code.
As i said you're going to have an extremely hard time finding a VB decompiler as i dont think there is such a thing for the recent versions of VB.

the easiest way change strings in precompiled software (as far as i know) is to use a hex editor if (win) { I Like HackMan | http://www.technologismiki.com/hackman/ | }
the only prob is that you can't change the length of the variable only the value...
Yeah, tampabay420's right. If it's a simple spelling error where you switched a letter, get hackman and do a 32 bit search for the erroneous word, then type the change over it. Don't 'insert a byte' though, as this will misalign the whole program after that value and it will cease to function.
