Possible Glich!Not sure

I had a strange thing happen the other day while online. I was talking to two different people on msn messenger(running XP and juno). Suddenly my task bar tray arrow starts rapidly moving left to right . And the text box on msn messenger starts scrolling inside the text box with no control. This would go on for 10- 20 seconds and then stop. Has anyone ever see this happen before? I scanned my system with norton and The Cleaner right away and there was no detection. My first guess was maybe a msn bot but I thought those didn't work on MSN. Is this a problem with a running process or maybe a glich with running juno and msn messenger? Any suggestions will help. THANK YOU

Did you download a special program to make your computer to do neat things? And it only happen once? I never heard of anything like this before.

You didn't by any chance ask for 'remote assistance' in msn did you? :) Most of the bots in MSN that i've seen will display funny text & jokes amoung other things such as displaying info on the peaple in the room and recording the text to a .txt file. Some versions of MSN messager will even act as a bot when your set to away mode. I don't think I've seen a bot that does that though :confused:

Where did you download the bot and what does it normally do?
You might wanna scan some more or take a better look at the peaple your talking to.

No, No new programs were installed. And no I never downloaded a bot or would have anything to do with that. I was just curious too know if it had happened to anyone else. One of the people I was talking to was my brother(on messenger)the other was someone I just meet online(I don't know very well). No pictures or files were downloaded from anyone...just simple chatting through messenger when it first happened. I was simply trying to figure out what cause it. At this point my guess would be a simple glich in the msmsgs.exe file running inthe task manager. But that is really an uneducated guess from someone who doesn't know much of cpu's.

Well BroadBand_Junky if you could send me the chat room that you were in i might be able to help and maybe when you installed msn chat something went wrong and it didn't detect it ot maybe |The|Specialist is right?

I wasn't in a chat room....so i'm guessing a bot can't be used. i was just talking on msn IM or instant messenger service.

I'm pretty sure bots can be used in chat rooms because bots have tried to talk to me and they would say something so irrelevant. people make bots to say stuff to get you to go to there sites so they don't have to keep typeing.

maybe u accidently held down the tab key? or the spacebar inadvertantly... ive done that.. and it did funny things like ur talking about... maybe that was it? just a thought...
