Is it possible to change the shell of Windows XP?
you can use litestep.... I've got it running on this 2K laptop. and a friend of mine has it on his XP system.....
http://www.litestep.com
I tried the link and could not get it to work, even googled it and really could not find anyhting (except for exercise typs of things).
I mean in a file, I already have litestep... I need to chaneg the shell back to explorer.
In Win NT/2K/XP the shell setting is stored in the registry at this location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
change the shell value to point to your shell. With the full path.
It may be easyer for you to use a shell swaper such as Fast Swap http://home.arcor.de/patrizia.siniba.../products.html
It says it is compatible with Windows XP
