Linux and dial-up
Ok. Im running Linux on a machine and want it to be able to connect to the internet through dial-up. The problem is, i dont have a clue on how to do it. Ive looked around and really couldn't find out how. Could you all help me or post a link to a site that explains how? Thanks in advance.

What version of Linux are you using? Either way, look for a program called KPPP which will be under Internet in the KDE menu. That should help ya out

well specs on the modem and stuff would be nice. I however would recommend you get some sort of external 56k fax modem. Man mine worked great for ages... look into the brand Modem Blaster. they make good ones, thats why i used to run anyway and it was really reliable.

Oh, if you have a winmodem, try www.linmodem.org Its a great site with good links to sites where you can get the drivers you need for your modem to work. Worked just great with my Conexant Softmodem
