Hey All,
I asked this a long time ago, but the tread has since disappeared.
I want to try and put Linux on my Palm m100 but can't find a working type.
I checked uCLinux but it's only for Palm III/V Series.
I also checked JPilot, but it's not a full working version for m100 (no touch screen!) and I checked KPilot but can't find feedback about it anywhere....
So my question is, does anyone know of something I can put on my PDA?

cause well, you could install that on a toilet paper roll if it had a floppy drive, lol.
also, http://www.suse.com may have something im not sure though, i know that mine came with support for PDas but im not sure about if itll work so check that out to, if i can find some other things for you ill let you know unless you go with netbsd or SuSe. :)

Jpilot and Kpilot are linux versions of the Palmdesktop, not the Palm OS itself.
What you want to do is very risky since there hasn't been much development on Handsprings and other Palm systems.
If you really want to run linux on a PDA go for the Sharp Zaurus, they have lowered their prices too.
Furthermore, your PDA runs something much better and different then M$ Pocketpc ;)

I just reread the sites and yeah, Jpilot and Kpilot are Palm desktop apps. Oops! Good think I didn't try to run em' on my Palm :D (laughs at self)
Guess I should put more emphasis on sleep, eh?

As for Suse, the only thing I could find was how to sync Linux with PDA & Cradle

I'll check the LinuxDA downloads you sent me. It has just come to my attention that the m100 is a step-up of IIIe. It appears though, that the "demo" lacks certain key tools

I remember finding something, somewhere before about a .prc file running on top of PalmOS and acting like the GUI/Shell for the PDA instead of PalmOS. Maybe this LinuxDA does too?
Well, The LinuxDA won't work because it wants to flash a Rom file to the Palm ROM, but the m100's rom is not flashable (in other words, I'm stuck with PalmOS3.5)
Guess I'n stuck. Unless someone knows of a linux.prc file?

There are two methods, downloading the .prc file (that I was looking for) or creating your own .prc file (as well as other methods from other sites, like Rom flashing)
I'll come out with a tutorial some time next week (once I've succesfulyl done it myself)
