I've been using windows for a long time so recently I've decided to start experimenting other operating systems, mainly linux distros. Although, yesterday a friend gave me a copy of Mac OS 10.2. Can that OS be installed on Intel/AMD machines or just Motorrola?

It's Mac specific. In other words will not run on an x86 architecture unless you have a PPC emulator somewhere. I see rumors of such a program , but since I have never used one, I will not bet money on it.
I hear OSX is a good OS, and based on the Darwin distro. Maybe you wanna try that.
