I have heard alot of linear and nonlinear cryptology, and it makes no sense to me. Either its way over my head or im not getting the right resources. And yes i googled it but i ran into mostly commercial companies. Could someone help me out with a link or something.

The best book on Crypto. that i have ever read was Applied Cryptography by Bruce Schneier. It covers everything from diffrent algorithims for secure comunication of one sort of anouther (cyber cash, eletronic voteing, and outher neat stuff) as well as discussion of the math and algorithims of diffrent forms of encryption, it should have what you are looking for.

Cryptology is VERY math intensive. Old crypto was quite simple and straight forward (like the rot13 program) Modern crypto requires a very good understanding of advanced math concepts. Applied Cryptography is still probably the best book out there, but unless you understand math, it will still be over your head.
