News Feed?
I use Ximian evolution as a mail client, and it can connect to a newsfeed (eg Slashdot ot The Register) and give a list of the latest articles etc.
Is it possible to use this feature with AntiOnline. If so what is the url I should use.
I have no idea what the format etc. is, but if someone could point me in the right direction at AntiOnline I would be pleased.
Thanks

I do not believe AO has any NNTP services. At least, if they do, I have never heard of it. Why not just pick a big news server?

I probably wasn't specific enough in my description of what I was looking for, but I have nntp access.
After further research Ximian Evolution can import RDF format news feeds for example see http://slashdot.org/slashdot.rdf
Is this s service available from AntiOnline?
I have searched the forum for "rdf" but to no avail.
Thanks,

AFAIK, there is no newsfeed from AO. You might want to check www.securityfocus.com to see if their newsfeed is compatible.
And you might want to suggest in the Site Suggestions that AO get a newsfeed. :)

What info would you like to see in the feed? Actual news, or the latest threads in the forum, or just those posts in the Tutorial forum? I'm into RSS, and we've already got quite a few sites with RSS feeds. You can see the list here:

What I'd like to see would be the headlines from the latest threads (IE the ones from the Homepage) but I gues other people would want other feeds.
I have no idea about the workload required to implelent this, so I don't know how much of a pain it would be to do one feed for the latest threads and one each for the forums. That way people could pick and choose.
I don't know what RSS is, but here I go to find out........

Okay, help please someone:
I've sort of started theis thread again in the suggestions forum. and I think this thread should be moved there, but I've no Idea how to do it.
As for RSS, it seems that RSS is a format that I can handle, and may be the same as RDF.
Thanks.
