the answer is :) 1.2519531 Gigabyte (GB)
well usually 1024 is the K unit in computers...but sometimes back i read somewhere..(sorry source no available with me)...that HDD manufacturing companies use 1000 as the measure for K in computers too....
so
1000 b = 1K
1000 K = 1M
1000 M = 1G
so by this method 1282 MB = 1.282 M
but if we use 1024 as the unit(if u are talking abt applications than HDD space) then
1024 b = 1K
1024 K = 1M
1024 M = 1G
by which u have 1.251953125 G
Thanx NullDevice. I just actually got my first lessons on computers. Your the best teacher dude...lol

do u think rounding off for such simple calculations would be fine(if we are not teaching a std 5 chap) .. i dont think so...he should have done it with 1024 only instead of 1000.Quote:

but my personal views...only
hey don't forget the most important file size that we use all the times... bits
8 bits = 1 byte
Just figure I would throw that in...
~AciD
2 bits equals a quarter (LOL)
A dachsund represents a lower byte, a great dane represents the upper byte.
no dachsund, one great dane ( one Miniature Schnauzer and one 90 lbs. mix )
AND NO bites :p
