I was told that there was a reg key in windows xp that let you turn off the mandatory activation thing. If so, could someone out there let me know what it is? thanks lots. laterz.

Microsoft did that for a reason to stop people from using pirated copies of their O.S. but alot of good that did because it was cracked the first day it came out. and I wouldn't ask that sort of question on this Board it is about helping people secure their systems not how to crack a software product or how to hack a site or someones computer.
you could find it in this link http://www.antionline.com/misc.php?action=faq
my apologies, i had fogotten where i was.
dont worry about it, this is a security site. BUT some of us are very anti-microsoft and dont really mind this kinda stuff. However, its not very smart to post it because people will just neg the crap out of you. I would recommend searching for some cracks on google, there are some that you load in safemode, dial some wacky numbers or something to turn it off.. ive never done it personally, but then again i dont run XP...
